The Department of Psychology intends to appoint a Senior Research Associate in Psychology as part of a team on a high profile education intervention funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England focused on addressing barriers to student success and closing the attainment gap for Black Minority Ethnic (BME) and working class students. Under the leadership of Professor Sherria Hoskins and Dr Jessica Gagnon, the intervention will involve four partner universities: the University of the Arts London, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Brighton, and the University of Winchester. The project is titled: Changing Mindsets: Reducing stereotype threat and implicit bias as barriers to student success. The project will enable a scaled-up, refined version of the existing Changing Mindsets intervention to be delivered as workshops to students and staff at each institution to build growth mind-set and to address implicit bias and stereotype threat. A postgraduate qualification and relevant research experience is required.

We seek a highly motivated and collegial individual.  The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the UK Higher Education system.  They will have excellent project management, research and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly to a wide range of audiences.  The post holder will have experience of multivariate statistics.
