The University is delighted to be able to offer a number of posts in the School of Nursing and Allied Health. This is a brand-new school, so this is an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape the future of our Nursing and Allied Health provision. Our current health-related portfolio across the University includes Social Work and Social Care, Psychology, Counselling, Nutrition, Sports Therapy, Biomechanics, Public Health, and most recently BSc/MSc programmes in Physiotherapy.

We are developing a range of Adult Nursing programmes that will be recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the healthcare and wider sectors in which our graduates will work. Nursing and Allied Health is based at our Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester.

Lecturer Practitioners will teach as a member of the teaching team in a developing capacity with support from the course team as appropriate. Your role will be to contribute to key activities of teaching, research and income generation for 0.5fte (2-year fixed term contract) in addition to you remaining employed in your clinical nursing role. You will contribute to the delivery of the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing course and other future courses. You will provide students with contemporary nursing knowledge that will lead to an understanding of person-centred healthcare practice for both the achievement of academic and professional qualifications.

You may wish to be seconded from your current role for up to two years for 50% of your time if you work full time currently, as such you will require full support from your employer or alternatively be practising separately for up to 0.5fte in a patient facing clinical role. There are two roles available and we are seeking to have practitioners from both an acute care and community care background.

The postholders will have the knowledge, experience and skills to enable contemporary contribution to the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme. You will need to be an NMC registrant in good standing as Registered Nurse Adult, have demonstrable contemporary clinical knowledge required for Nursing Adults in a range of care settings, a HE teaching qualification (Associate Fellow or Fellow) OR willingness to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education/Academic Professional within an agreed timeframe together and demonstrable evidence of delivering teaching, learning and assessment.

We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills and professional practices.

The University of Chichester embraces all forms of diversity and aspires to be a fully inclusive and representative employer and so we encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people.

This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, which will be undertaken by the University on appointment.
