Creative Industries

We are currently seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Esports to join the Creative Industries team, in our purpose-built facilities, in the Tech Park, on our Bognor Regis campus. This is an ideal opportunity for an early career professional. As a Lecturer you will teach as a member of the BA (Hons) Esports teaching team in a developing capacity within an established programme of study and/or across developing areas.

This is an exciting new opportunity to have an input in to one of the first esports programmes to be launched in the UK, and will involve you in developing industry links and relationships to enhance student experience and employability. You will work closely with colleagues across the department and the university to foster a culture of collaboration, especially with our Institute of Sport and our own Sports Media and Games Design programmes.

We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of the esports industry through content creation, marketing, business, journalism or research. You will be joining a team of former professional players and coaches, current broadcasters, internationally relevant sports science researchers and sports media professionals. The post will be of particular interest to those looking to combine a career in esports with one in academia.

You will have a good relevant undergraduate degree with further professional or academic qualifications at Masters level or equivalent. You will have a teaching qualification or the willingness to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. In addition you will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current initiatives underpinning the subject area and the ability to motivate, enthuse and develop students

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Michael Holley, Head of Department – Creative Industries, via email at Michael.Holley@chi.ac.uk
