My Choice Children's Homes are nurturing homes for looked after children. The homes are located throughout Sussex and Surrey. We have a school also located in Sussex.

Our homes provide a comfortable, medium to long-term, non-institutional environment for young people to begin to work towards their future and independence, or to return home or to alternative carers.  We support our children and young people, empowering them through therapeutic services, to face the issues both in their past and present that have caused them difficulties, resulting in outstanding outcomes for them.

We are looking to recruit someone who ideally has experience and skills in day to day general maintenance, redecoration, H&S checks, carrying out general repairs and on call duties.

To succeed in this role you will need –

• To be organised, the ability to manage a varied workloads and prioritise.
• Be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Experience in plumbing, basic carpentry, painting and decorating and gardening.
• Attention to detail.
• A full Driving License (works van provided)

Duties include but aren’t restricted to -

• To adhere to the Maintenance Manager’s instructions
• To undertake all painting, repairs and decorating duties as required.
• Ensure you liaise with the Care Manager upon starting a job and during the day checking that it is appropriate to continue work in the home
• Read the maintenance risk assessment when you arrive at the home, and regularly review this with the manager.
• On-call rota
• To provide generalist assistance and support with all aspects of the Company’s maintenance.
• To contribute to the development and expansion of My Choice Children’s Homes and My Choice Schools.
