This is an exciting opportunity to join our Fundraising and Communications team in the delivery of compelling and innovative communications.

Focussed on increasing awareness and engagement with our supporters, potential donors and our staff, you will need to have great communication skills, both written and verbal, be organised with good planning, administrative skills and good attention to detail.

You will be contributing to the writing and editing of engaging copy to use across a range of communication channels, including website news stories, social media, marketing publications and other materials.

Being part of the Fundraising and Communications team, you will also assist your fellow team members with the delivery of fundraising events and leading on the coordination of in-kind donations to the organisation.

You will develop a sound knowledge of all our services to enable accurate messaging and to cultivate considerate relationships with individual and corporate donors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in generating content for all social media channels and website, campaign creation/development, design and copywriting with a proven ability to write and edit engaging copy for different audiences across varied communication channels. You will need to work with our internal CMS / CRM system so experience working with computer systems will be needed although training will be provided on our specific system as needed.


Your duties would include:

  • Create and maintain a media library, (including the back catalogue) of imagery, AV footage, sounds clips and case studies
  • Writing and editing press releases and building relationships with local press and national press where appropriate.
  • Support the design creation of all internal and external communications (digital and hard copy) currently using Canva, adhering to the Stonepillow brand guidelines by creating campaign mood and storyboards for:
    • Marketing, PR, and fundraising campaigns;
    • Maintaining and updating the Stonepillow website and all social media channels;
    • Powerpoint presentations;
    • Posters, flyers and mailshots; 
    • Press releases 
  • Take the lead on our digital presence to develop and improve online awareness and performance to increase followers and engagement levels.
    • Proactively monitor daily activity on all Stonepillow social media channels, responding quickly to posts, enquiries, and re-share opportunities to raise public awareness and overall participation.
    • Using website analytics to ascertain the relative effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and understand the way users interact with the site
    • Track and report social media performance.
    • Produce mock-ups to update/add new web page content
  • Events & community fundraising activities
    • Support the team with planning and delivery of key Stonepillow events, in particular with pre-event and post-event communication, and be present to assist on the event as needed.
    • Plan, facilitate and oversee the delivery of online content to promote events and community fundraising.
    • Work closely with ‘Restore’ (our social enterprise) team to raise their online profile and increase donations and customer support for that project.
    • Create engaging and flexible campaigns to establish and nurture relationships with donors to encourage a consistent flow of desired donations.
    • Measure and report the performance of all donation campaigns with the aim of increasing support from businesses, organisations, community groups and individual donors.

  • Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision and prioritise a diverse workload
  • To be innovative, and flexible to create opportunities that inspire the local community by making a difference
  • Experience of working on several projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines
  • Proven experience of delivering effective digital communication activities
  • Experience of co-producing creative copy for mailings, posters & marketing campaigns
  • Good administrative, organisational and time management skills
