University of Chichester Academy Trust - Deputy Headteacher
Berewood Primary School, Waterlooville
Start date: 1st September 2021
Berewood Primary School is proud of its journey since opening in September 2014. We are a growing school which will eventually have 420 pupils on roll (expected roll in September 2021 will be approx. 417). Together we are creating a vibrant, happy and exciting school, with a rich curriculum that provides a wealth of opportunities to inspire our pupils in their learning and personal development. Our school is a positive and energetic environment in which everyone is encouraged to do their best and achieve their full potential, a place where everybody is valued and respected.
We are looking for a colleague to join us as our new Deputy Headteacher in September 2021. We offer you a skilled, hardworking and dedicated staff team willing to offer support and expertise to develop your own practise, as well as excited to learn from you. We work in a beautiful, purpose built new school, with bright classrooms, colourful shared spaces and lovely grounds. The successful postholder may already be an assistant headteacher or deputy headteacher in their current school and be looking for a new challenge. You will be a strong and confident teacher and an enthusiastic team player with high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour. If successful you will be expected to actively contribute to the work of the senior leadership team and enable a provision of outstanding learning opportunities, creating an environment which is pupil-centred and embraces the richness of diversity with high aspirations for all.
We seek an exemplary cross primary phase classroom practitioner who possesses excellent people skills and in doing so can both lead by example and take the lead on curriculum innovation.
An extremely strong classroom teacher you will also have experience of leading and bringing about successful school improvement and the presence to inspire confidence, enabling others to feel empowered and motivated to achieve well. Our new Deputy Headteacher will need to have a high level of commitment to the entire school community and to developing and sustaining excellence in learning and teaching. You must also have an ability to foster an open, innovative culture, which ensures it supports the needs of all our pupils.
If you are ready for the next step in your career and have the passion to make a real and positive impact on the lives of our pupils, we would be delighted to arrange an informal discussion with Ricky Leigh, Headteacher, email email@example.com to arrange. Visits to the school are limited currently and potentially could be arranged if we can facilitate safe social distancing measures, alternatively a virtual meeting can be arranged.
Applicants should complete an Application Form and Equality Monitoring Form and return them by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by the closing date. You will find both forms on the job pages of our website: https://www.unicat.org.uk/find-job. Please note interviews may be conducted by Skype and/or in person, subject to Government restrictions at the time.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of all relevant pre-employment checks.
