Start your HR career with a nationally recognised qualification in a unique and inspiring setting.

West Dean is a highly respected provider of specialist education, creative arts, and historic craft practices. Located in the heart of the South Downs near Chichester, the College is also a vibrant visitor destination with beautiful gardens, historic collections, and an international reputation for excellence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised individual to join our People (HR) Team as a People Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of HR activities – including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll support, and policy compliance – while studying for the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship through Chichester College.

If available, you can initially join us on a casual contract during the summer, then move onto a fixed-term apprenticeship contract from September 2025. The role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in HR, with support and training from a friendly and experienced team.

What we offer:

  • A structured and supported HR career pathway

  • Practical experience in all core areas of HR

  • Full funding through our Apprenticeship Levy

  • A competitive hourly rate

  • A dynamic and collaborative working environment at a renowned cultural and educational organisation

What you’ll need:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

  • To meet the entry requirements for the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship

  • Strong organisational and IT skills

  • Excellent communication and a professional, discreet approach

  • A genuine interest in working in Human Resources and developing your skills

If you're ready to take the first step towards a professional HR career in a setting that values creativity, heritage, and people, we’d love to hear from you.
